So there’s a lot of competition! How can you make your blog or website stand out and receive more views and visitors by ranking it high? Please bear with me.

What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Go ahead and search for anything; you’ll notice that some pages rank higher than others. Wondering why?  This is how SEO works.

SEO, or search engine optimization, is the method or technique that you must employ in order for people to find your blogs online via engine searches and receive free traffic, also known as “organic listing.”

Let me expand on this and go over some specific details.

When it comes to SEO, there are three things to consider:

  • You.
  • The search engine.
  • And the searcher.

When you publish a new blog piece, you want it to be at the top of the search results so that others can find it.

What is the method for using a search engine?

While most search engines keep their algorithms hidden from the general public, I do have some knowledge of how they operate.

But, before I go on with search engines and their algorithms, I’m going to switch to Google and stop saying search engines.

Let’s face it: Google is responsible for 90% of all global searches. When you initially launch Internet Explorer, you use Bing to find the Google page.

Now, let’s return to our original point. When a new article is published online, Google begins reading the page for keywords. This is how Google determines the subject of your article.

The bounce rate of a page is also checked by Google. Your bounce rate is determined by how long visitors spend on your page.

The lower the bounce rate, the longer the user stays on the site. As your bounce rate decreases, your page ranks higher in Google search results.

Types of Search Engine Optimization: Beginners Guide to SEO

Two types of SEO exist:

  • On-Page Optimization (or on-page SEO)
  • Off-Page Optimization (or off-page SEO).
Beginners Guide to SEO

Consider having a neighborhood coffee shop in your hometown. To keep your business going, you must complete two tasks.

First and foremost, you must draw them in by creating a welcoming environment. Then, in order for them to remain loyal consumers, you must supply them with nice and tasty coffee. Right?

You might be wondering what a coffee shop has to do with SEO. Patience, my friends🤩.

Producing good on-page SEO is similar to making tasty coffee. People stay on your website because of the design of your content, as well as the value and keywords in it.

While designing your coffee shop to attract customers is similar to off-page SEO to help Google and other search engines rank your website higher, on-page SEO is different.

On-Page Optimization (On-page SEO)

There are three primary elements to consider when it comes to on-page SEO.

Your content is the first and most important!

What is the purpose of content? Because content is king.  Researchers would be absolutely delighted if they could find all of the information they require in a single article.

Go now and search “simple homemade pizza sauce” (I think I’m hungry).

Google will make every attempt to provide you with the finest article possible, one that discusses the greatest recipe with the fewest ingredients and the shortest preparation time. Haha, that’s cool.

It does not display the best pizza joints in town; instead, it displays exactly what you requested.

This is why you must provide excellent content in order for Google and your readers to value what you are offering.

Also, there are two types of content. Evergreen content, which is content that will last for a long time, such as a post about how to make money online, and short-term content, such as a post about the best mobile phones in 2020.

What exactly are keywords? Keywords are the terms people will use to do their research.

Always make sure to use specific keywords when trying to rank higher. “Best homemade pizza sauce,” for example, is better and more precise than “pizza sauce.” You understand what I’m trying to say.

There are tons of free tools available to assist you in selecting the best keywords.

However, be careful not to overuse keywords. Use it in your headlines, the page’s URL link, and some of the body text.

Keywords should be used sparingly in your text, ideally in the region of 0.5-3 percent. Going above this range will not fool search engines, and you may suffer a ranking penalty as a result.

We’re not talking about the design that makes a search engine want to rank your page; that will come later. We’re talking about your content’s design.

It’s critical to make sure your post’s header, titles, and overall content organization are all understandable to the reader.

Furthermore, it is critical to optimize your images in your content.
Images are the visual representations of your content.

Make sure you have captions and descriptions for your images. For the search engine to examine this image, use the keywords in your description, and it will be listed for that relevant keyword. This will improve the overall rating of the article for that specific keyword.

Off-Page Search Engine Optimization

Now we get to the moment where we entice Google to give our page a higher ranking. Many elements have a role in this, and some of them are listed below.

Bounce Rate And Page Speed

Let’s be honest. When was the last time you waited a minute for a page to load? Or how about 20 seconds? You can’t recall, that’s right. Google understands that time is the most valuable commodity in life.

Your bounce rate will increase if your page is slow. People will click the link and then depart in less than 10 seconds if your page does not load.
This will result in a high bounce rate and, as a result, a worse Google page ranking.

The security of your website is becoming a crucial factor in SEO rankings.
Furthermore, if you open a non-secure page with Google Chrome, you will see a dangerous warning.

ssl warning

After viewing the warning, people will leave your website. This is a major issue now that Chrome is the most widely used browser on the planet.

Ensure that your website begins with HTTPS. What exactly does that imply? It implies that all data sent between your website and your visitor is encrypted at all times. Installing an SSL certificate on your website will help you do this.

Any search engine considers a page that has a lot of links pointing to it to be very important. This is the purpose of backlinks.

But, let’s face it, no one will link to you if you aren’t a really important website that everyone is talking about. I know it’s sad, but it’s the reality. You must take the initiative to obtain backlinks.

Make contact with other blog owners to see if you can swap backlinks. However, prioritize quality over quantity.

It’s more crucial to have a well-known corporation backlink to your blog than it is to have a lot of non-read pages hyperlink to you. Significant blogs, according to SEOs, discuss about other important blogs.

As a result, if you have high-quality backlinks, Google will give your page a higher ranking.

Tools for a Successful Ranking

If you have a WordPress blog, the most common plugin to install is “Yoast SEO, and AIOSEO” It gives you suggestions on how to improve your page’s ranking. It looks at your post and tells you what’s excellent and what’s not. Here’s an example:

SEOProfiler is another tool that might assist you with your ranking.

SEOProfiler is the ultimate SEO tool that can help you gain a better understanding of your competitors, identify your top organic and paid keywords, perform backlink research, and much more.
Make sure to have a look at it.

A decent SEO method doesn’t require much time or effort, but if you ignore it, your content will suffer.

It may take you 5-6 hours to create a blog article, but it is up to you to decide if your piece will be read for years or not. Simply set aside 10 to 15 minutes after you’ve finished writing your piece to make the necessary changes.

These modifications will improve your SEO ranking, allowing you to reach a larger audience. Maybe your post will stand out if you use a great SEO approach!

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you in the comments section.
